Step Back in Time at Pearl Harbor
Visit the Arizona Memorial for a powerful journey into America’s past. Your experience begins at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, where interactive exhibits and a gripping documentary bring December 7, 1941, to life. This introduction sets the stage, helping you understand the impact of that fateful day.
Reflection at the USS Arizona Memorial
Next, take a peaceful boat ride across the harbor, operated by the U.S. Navy. As you approach the striking white structure of the USS Arizona Memorial, a sense of reverence fills the air. Below, the sunken battleship rests in the water, its outline still visible. Oil droplets, known as “The Tears of the Arizona,” continue to rise from the wreckage, a haunting reminder of history. The memorial’s quiet atmosphere invites reflection, honoring the 1,177 sailors and Marines who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their names are etched into a wall of remembrance, ensuring they are never forgotten.
Explore Historic Honolulu
Your journey doesn’t end at Pearl Harbor. Continue with a scenic drive through Honolulu’s most historic landmarks. Pass the Punchbowl National Cemetery, a peaceful resting place for American service members. Admire Iolani Palace, the only royal residence in the U.S. See the iconic King Kamehameha Statue, a tribute to the leader who united Hawaii. Capture the charm of Kawaiaha’o Church, one of Oahu’s oldest places of worship, and Ali’iolani Hale, home to the Hawaii State Supreme Court.
